Veneers

Dental veneers are a cosmetic dental treatment that can significantly improve the appearance of your front teeth

Dental Veneers

It is natural for your teeth to wear down over time. Lifestyle choices, injuries and accidents can cause chips, cracks, discolouration, or staining, and make your teeth more vulnerable to damage, dental disease and decay. Dental veneers offer a solution to these problems, and also enhance your smile.

A dental veneer is a wafer thin shell made from tooth-colored material, usually porcelain, that is fitted over the front teeth to cover cracks and other imperfections. Glenville Dental also specialises in composite veneers, which are a cost effective alternative to porcelain veneers. Both options are used to recreate the natural look of your teeth, while adding additional strength and resilience to your smile. Veneers are custom made to fit the contour of your teeth, and are bonded to the tooth’s original enamel using a safe and strong dental adhesive.

Why Choose Veneers?

Veneers are a minimally invasive option to improve the appearance of your front teeth. They can be a suitable alternative to dental crowns, as they require less tooth preparation.

We Specialise in Composite Veneers

As well as providing porcelain veneers, the team at Glenville Dental offer composite veneers. Composite veneers are a cost effective option over porcelain veneers, costing almost as half as much, when administered by qualified dentists, delivering the same excellent results. This is largely due to the materials. Composite veneers are made from tooth-coloured resin, which is the same material that can be used for fillings. This resin is completely safe to use in your mouth, and also has the advantage of being much more flexible.

Unlike porcelain veneers, which require your teeth to be shaped to fit, direct composite veneers are applied right on to your teeth, which saves a lot of time. Typically, composite veneers are made while you wait, and are then sculpted onto your teeth by one of our expert dentists. The resin is hardened using a high intensity light, and additional layers can be applied as necessary to achieve the desired shape and look. Once finished, the tooth is polished and shined, to give you a naturally perfect looking finish. Often this treatment can be completed within one visit.
