Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is an economical solution for stained, broken, or chipped teeth. It will enhance your smile!

Dental Bonding in Dundrum, Dublin

Dental bonding is one of the easiest and least expensive cosmetic dental procedures, making it a popular option. It is suitable for small cosmetic dentistry fixes, such as repairing a broken, chipped, or fractured tooth, or closing small gaps between teeth. Dental bonding can also be used as a filling for small cavities. It uses a tooth-coloured material, making it a more aesthetically pleasing option instead of traditional silver filings.

Dental bonding is called so because it involves bonding a tooth-coloured composite resin to your teeth. This material is shaped and polished to match your surrounding teeth. Unlike dental veneers, which are manufactured in a lab and require a uniquely designed mould to achieve a proper fit, bonding can be done in a single visit. The team at Glenville Dental will review your oral health and can provide expert recommendations on whether dental bonding is the right choice for you.

What Our Patients Say

Benefits of Dental Bonding

Dental bonding will improve your oral health, and give you a better looking smile. It can strengthen the structure of your teeth, fix cracks, repair chips, and can also be used for cosmetic purposes, such as improving the appearance of a discolored or stained tooth. It is also used as an alternative to silver fillings, or to protect a portion of the tooth’s root that has been exposed when the gums recede. Its main advantage over other cosmetic dentistry treatments is that it is a relatively low cost option. It is a relatively quick procedure, and uses composite resin that will be matched to the colour of the rest of your teeth. For those who are budget conscious, dental bonding is a good choice.

Dental Bonding Before and After Photos

Dental bonding treatment starts with preparation of the tooth surface. The surface is cleaned and then etched with phosphoric acid. This is rinsed away and a special adhesive agent is then applied to the treated surface. This is cured with a special light. Composite increments are then layered onto the tooth surface creating a natural texture and finish. This is then cured again and the surface is polished. The procedure takes 30-40 minutes and you can eat very soon afterwards.

The benefits of dental bonding go beyond just repairing your damaged teeth. While that in itself is a good enough reason, seeking cosmetic dentistry treatments also have the added benefit of boosting your self esteem.
