Braces in Dundrum, Dublin

Glenville Dental has a team of dentists who are committed to helping you find the best individualised treatment plan for your teeth. We are the longest established dental clinic in Dundrum, and have vast experience in improving the oral health of our patients, as well as their self esteem and confidence. Whether you need to correct large gaps between teeth, correct an irregular bite, or simply straighten your smile, our treatments will bring your teeth into the correct alignment for your jaw, improving the appearance of your teeth, and your overall dental health.

Why Choose Our Orthodontist for Braces?

Misaligned teeth, including overbites or underbites, can put abnormal strain on other teeth, and the jaw, which can cause tension and grinding. Crowded teeth can be difficult to clean, which may result in a build up of bacteria, potentially leading to further dental health issues. Our orthodontic dentists can help correct these issues by recommending the most suitable type of braces for you. Options range from traditional metal braces and retainers, through to clear or see-through braces, aligners, and lingual braces.  These dental treatments use constant, gentle pressure, which over time, shift the teeth into their correct alignment, relieving tension and stress, and giving you a healthier, cleaner smile.

We Also Provide Clear Braces

Invisalign clear braces are a great option for people who want to straighten their teeth, but don’t like the look of traditional braces. The Invisalign system uses clear retainers to correct the alignment of your teeth, much in the same way regular braces do. The advantage of Invisalign, however, is they are virtually invisible, so they have minimal impact on your day-to-day life. Many people won’t even notice that you are wearing them.   Invisalign clear braces must be worn for 22 hours per day for best results, but they are much more convenient than traditional metal braces. They are easy to remove and clean, facilitating your usual daily dental hygiene regime of cleaning and flossing.

What Our Patients Say

Benefits of Braces on Teeth

Orthodontic treatments have been proved to improve overall dental hygiene. It is easier to clean and floss between straight teeth, thereby reducing the risk of developing tooth decay and gum disease. This can have longer term impacts, including reducing the risk of requiring dentures in later life. Additionally, teeth that are properly aligned allow you to chew more efficiently, and reduce the risk of clenching or grinding your teeth, especially during sleep.  So while improving the appearance of your smile is reason enough to consider orthodontics, braces have benefits far beyond the purely cosmetic. Braces give you a healthier mouth and smile, boost your confidence, and help ensure that your teeth last a lifetime.

Braces For Kids

It is important to invest in your child’s oral health early on, so that you set them up for a healthy future. At Glenville Dental in Dundrum, we provide full-service orthodontic treatments for kids, usually beginning at 10-13 years for girls and 11-15 years for boys. At this age, your child’s body is also changing quickly, and we can take advantage of this growth to reshape the appearance and function of their teeth, gently and gradually guiding them into alignment.

When you bring your child for their first orthodontic consultation, we will fully assess their oral health and recommend a comprehensive treatment plan. Our orthodontic dentists can correct a variety of problems, including crooked teeth, overbites, or gaps. And additionally, as described in the section above, braces can help your child’s overall dental hygiene in the long-term, bring out the best in your child’s smile, and greatly boost their self-esteem and confidence.
